Module Outline
Module 6: Building Communication Skills as an ASHA and Understanding Patient Data Privacy
As an ASHA, you play an important role in helping people stay healthy. During your home visits, you talk to families about their health, register beneficiaries, complete the CBAC form, help create ABHA IDs, and encourage people to visit the health facility for screening and follow-up.
Sometimes, people may have questions or hesitate to share their personal information. They may ask, “Why do you need my Aadhaar number?” or “Will my health information be safe?” Answering these questions in a simple and respectful way helps build trust and encourages people to use health services.
It is also your responsibility to keep every beneficiary’s personal and health information safe and confidential.
In this module, you will learn:
- How to communicate effectively with beneficiaries and their families.
- How to answer common questions and address concerns with confidence.
- How to build trust through respectful counselling.
- How to protect the privacy and confidentiality of beneficiaries’ health information while using the National NCD App.
